China’s June trade data is the focus. Late in the month China and the US furthered their truce in the trade war:
- officials from both countries confirmed that a deal had been signed to uphold the agreements made in the Geneva deal in early May
- China would begin to provide more rare earths to the US in exchange for the US taking down its countermeasures against China
- the scope of agreements are limited
Expectations for June are that China’s exports inched higher, while imports are expected to have bounced back.
