Major stock indices close lower today with the small-cap Russell 2000 and the Dow Industrial Average leading the way to the downside. The S&P and NASDAQ indices, which each traded to a new intraday record highs at the start of day, could not sustain upside momentum and are closing lower.. The market is a bit hesitant ahead of Amazon and Apple, Microsoft and meta earnings along with the US GDP at 8:30 AM ET, and the Fed decision at 2 PM ET. Later this week on Friday, the US jobs report will be released as well.
