The major US indices are opening with modest gains after mixed results yesterday. Recall, the Dow industrial average fell by -0.37%, but the broader S&P and NASDAQ index were little changed. The S&P fell -0.07%. The NASDAQ index rose 0.03%. The small-cap Russell 2000 did gain 0.66%.
At the open today, the major indices are trading higher. A snapshot of the market three minutes into the open is showing:
- Dow industrial average is up 234 points or 0.52% at 44470
- S&P index up 32 points or 0.52% at 6258
- NASDAQ index 146 points or 0.73% at 20567
The small-cap Russell 2000 is trading up 14.32 points or 0.64% at 2242.98.
Apple shares are trading higher despite White House advisor Navarro saying that Apple thinks are too big for tariffs.
Nvidia is trading at a new record. The market Is also approaching $4 trillion market capitalization at $163.93. The high price has reached $163.59. It is currently up $3.53 or 2.23% near the session highs.
In the US debt market, the 10 year yield is down -2.8 basis points ahead of its auction at 1 PM ET.
