Major European indices close higher. Gains led by Italy’s FTSE MIB

The major European indices are all closing higher led by Italy’s FTSE MIB. Spain’s Ibex was little changed. The final numbers are showing:

  • German DAX, +0.55%
  • France’s CAC, +0.56%
  • UK’s FTSE 100 +0.54%
  • Spain’s Ibex +0.03%
  • Italy’s FTSE MIB +0.67%

As London/European traders look for the exits, the major US indices are mixed:

  • Dow industrial average -143 points or -0.32% at 44265.59
  • S&P index -2.44 points or -0.04% at 6227.98
  • NASDAQ index +18.43 points or 0.09% at 20431.95.

The small-cap Russell 2000 is currently up 16.85 points or 0.76% at 2231.08.

Looking at the US debt market, yields are trading higher:

  • 2-year yield 3.909%, +0.6 basis points
  • 5 year yield 3.986%, +2.1 basis points.
  • 10 year yield 4.419%, +2.4 basis points
  • 30 year yield 4.955%, +2.5 basis points.

Crude oil continues to push higher despite the increase in production from OPEC+. The current price is up $0.40 at $68.40.

Gold is down $40.84 or -1.22% at $3298.12.

Bitcoin is trading near unchanged at $108,200.
