The major US stock indices are closing positive on the day with the NASDAQ index the best performer. Nvidia earnings will be announced at 4:20 PM ET. Expectations are for EPS of $1.26 on revenues of $54.9 billion (click here). A snapshot of the closing levels shows:
- Dow industrial average rose 47 103 points or 0.10% at 46138.77
- S&P index rose 24.84 points or 0.3% at 6642.16
- NASDAQ index rose 131.38 points or 0.59% at 22564.23.
Shares of Nvidia rose 2.85%. Other chip stocks were mixed:
- Broadcom rose 4.09%
- AMD fell -2.93%
- Micron fell -1.13%
- Intel rose 2.27%
